Wardrobe Malfunction! How does it feel?

We read in the news every day about celebrities, especially female top shots, running into trouble with their dresses in public. I must say that it is surely such an embarrassing situation for both the person involved and the audience / spectators.

Some of the Hollywood stars who have been affected in one way or the other are the likes of Jennifer Garner, Megan Fox, Beyoncé, Liv Tyler, Katherine Heigl, Maria Carey, to mention but a few. Jennifer Aniston, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, amongst others, got caught up in 2014.

This mishap can happen to anybody! These unfortunate artists usually get caught up on stage (at concerts, gigs, etc.) in a way that they cannot run off the stage in the middle of the show, rather they will be obliged to manage the situation until the end of the show.

But for the non-celebrity lady out there, she can always find a way of covering up immediately when this type of misfortune comes her way. For me, I cannot recall  any major havoc I have experienced. The main problems I have had in the past were with the zippers or buttons. You know the experience one has when one wants to wear a small-sized dress or pair of trousers. If the zippers do not zip up and one forces them, then they might burst at some stage. This might happen immediately or when one has left the house. On one particular instance, the zipper at the back of my blouse got damaged when I tried to zip it up. I was already running late and did not have any plan B, so I ended up leaving the house very late because it took me time to search and find something else to wear.

With the African attire, some malfunction occurrences might be typical with lace materials. Similar to the experience with the zippers and depending on the type, the lace material might tear up sooner or later if you force yourself into them.

Some other materials hook on any projection either at home, in the car or at an entrance. They tear up as a result of body movement and the strain.

The extent of damage to the respective materials will depend on the type and quality.

Casual Turkey Carving

This last Christmas (2014), we decided to ignore all formalities of professional turkey serving on the table. We decided to go for a Casual Turkey Carving

It was really fun because we had a lot of casual talks and questions.

Everybody was really happy that we had a Casual Turkey Carving

Every little kindness helps!

You can positively or negatively change people's lives by your actions and attitude! If we show a little kindness to others, we can lighten up their days and make them happy.

My experience with a bus driver a few weeks ago made me to reflect on human actions and urged me to share details of this encounter in this write-up.

On this faithful day, I wanted to take a public transport (the Dublin Bus to be precise) from the area where I work to the city (the City Centre).

Payment in Dublin buses is strictly by coins (the exact amount preferably). To make things more awkward, bus drivers do not (are not permitted to) accept bank notes.

You will understand what I mean if you live in Dublin and know how the Dublin Bus services work. If you do not have the exact coins, the driver cannot give you change rather he/she will give you a voucher (a credit note, sort of) which indicates the amount you are owed. No matter the amount involved and where you live, you will have to go to their Head Office in Dublin City Centre, present that voucher and collect your change.
This can be very inconveniencing if you do not live or work in that area and will have to travel solely for the purpose of collecting your change. You might end up paying more money on transportation than the amount you are about to collect.

I do not use the Dublin Bus services often because it is off my route. As a result, I did not remember to check and ensure that I have enough coins on me before boarding the bus. It was only when I entered the bus that I thought to myself "oh my God, I am not sure if I have enough coins". And truly, I did not have enough!

When I found out that the coins I had in my purse were not enough, I asked the driver to let me check my bag for more coins. She agreed and drove off giving me time to check.

I carefully searched every nook and cranny of my bag and purse and could not get enough coins. I approached her and explained. I expressed my willingness to pay with a bank note and collect a change voucher if possible. To my pleasant surprise, she told me not to bother that she can allow me to travel without payment.
Maybe she was touched by the way I searched frantically without success or she fully understood the situation whereby one is caught up with lack of coins.
She could have easily stopped at the next station and asked me to alight from the bus and look for change, but she showed this unexpected kindness which made my day.

This made me to realise how important it is to put ourselves in other people's shoes and try to help as much as we can to make things easy for them.

I am really of the opinion that we should always show compassion and understanding when dealing with others.

Wedding in style!

Fancy getting to the church on your wedding day in a unique way?

The wedding day is really the BIG day for both the bride and the bridegroom. It is a day that both parties feel loved and cherished.

There are so many wedding ceremonies (for celebrities and non-celebrities alike) going on every minute of the day throughout the world. These ceremonies are held in churches, courts, at home, etc.

Looking at the celebrity weddings that took place in 2014, you will see that there was a mixture of normal, secret and lavish ceremonies.
Stars like Ginnifer Goodwin, Jodie Foster, Nick Carter, amongst others, walked down the aisle.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally wedded after a long time of expectation.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tied the knot in Italy.

Some of the weddings were well publicised in advance while others were announced after the BIG day. Some ceremonies and after-parties were held in a big way with so many invitees in attendance. An example was the lavish wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin.

The other weddings that were not publicised were held privately with close family members. For example, Scarlett Johansson secretly tied the knot with fiancé Romain Dauriac. The Avengers star wedded after the birth of her daughter Rose. They kept the wedding secret because they wanted privacy. Rumours the couple were wed first surfaced when Scarlett was seen wearing a diamond band.
Adam Brody and Leighton Meester also wedded secretly.

The one wedding that caught my attention, warmed my heart and made me laugh was that of Solange Knowles. Solange Knowles got married to the music video director Alan Ferguson.
Out of all the glamorous means available to go to the church, she had this kinky idea of riding on a bike. She preferred to pedal to the church!
To show how prepared she was, her wedding dress was sown in a way to give her the freedom to ride her bike. I must say that she (in particular) and her husband are great fans of bicycles.

If I were to do it again, I would definitely go for something extraordinary.

What is your preference lady?
Do you fancy riding a bike/motorcycle/horse, being flown in a helicopter or driven in a cart, limousine, lorry, bus, train, boat..??? 😊
